A resolution approving entering into an agreement with the Environmental protection agency (EPA)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF directors of the sunny meadows Missoula county water and sewer district:
WHEREAS, the District owns and operates a water system within the Clark Fork River Basin near East Missoula, MT; and
WHEREAS, the EPA has expressed concern about possible impacts to our water system of ongoing activities to remove the Milltown dam; and
WHEREAS, time is of the essence in replacing the well, so as to minimize the potential for increased health and safety risks; and
WHEREAS, the EPA has offered to pay or reimburse all costs associated with replacing one of our wells with a new, deeper well; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the well replacement in a timely fashion, it would be most efficient to utilize the District’s ongoing relationship with Great West Engineering; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the well replacement, it will be necessary to enter into an agreement with both the EPA and Great West Engineering.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the District approves entering into an agreement with the EPA and authorizes the board to complete and submit any and all paperwork required to complete the well replacement.
