Notice to All Water Users
Watering Restrictions: June 29, 2007
This year, the board again finds it necessary to restrict watering during the summer to avoid water outages. Each time we experience an outage, we increase the likelihood of health and safety concerns for all members of the district. The need to chlorinate also increases the maintenance costs to the district. Therefore, for the remainder of the summer and fall, we will need to enforce our watering restriction policies to ensure that every homeowner has enough water to maintain their household. To review our policies:
Odd numbered addresses: Water only on odd numbered days.
Even numbered addresses: Water only on even numbered days.
31st of each month: Odd numbered houses water in the AM,
Even numbered houses water in the PM.
Sunnyside Court Residences: Water only on odd numbered days.
The board requests that you avoid watering from 3-6 AM to allow the storage tank to refill prior to morning usage. Hand watering will be allowed at all times if the hose is “hand-held,” and has some kind of sprayer on it. No open hoses are allowed.
Written violation notices will be hand-delivered, dated, timed, attached to your door, and will be billed on your next water bill. If payment is not received for violations, a $10.00 service charge per month and interest will also be charged. The fee structure for violations is:
1st violation per watering season $15
2nd violation per watering season $25
3rd violation per watering season $50
4th and subsequent violations per season Water can be shut off and disconnect and reconnect fees will be charged.
Please feel free to call any of your board members to report violators. Their numbers are listed below. Board members, and our system operations staff, will be authorized to issue citations for violations. The board members are:
Bill Engelstad 543-8472 Mike Huber 728-8188
Mike Lilley 327-6710 Tom Walter 728-1166
Cyndie Winchell 542-0433
The board hopes to be able to relax our watering restrictions in the future. However, until we are able to provide enough water to avoid outages, we feel it is necessary to keep the watering restrictions in place. As with all of our new policies, the board plans on reviewing the water restriction plan once we can deliver more water to the system and its users.
Sincerely,
The Sunny Meadows Missoula County Water and Sewer District Board
