Sunny Meadows Missoula County Water and Sewer District<\/h2>\n

Meeting Minutes<\/h2>\n

August 22nd, 2024 06:00 PM at East Missoula Fire Department<\/h3>\n

Roll Call: \u00a0Cyndie Winchel, Meggan Quigley, Michael Bushey, Paula Niccum.\u00a0 Bookkeeper Brennan Buhl also attended.<\/span><\/p>\n

Approval of Minutes: \u00a0Since the meeting was cancelled in July, the minutes from the June were approved.<\/span><\/p>\n

Financial Information: \u00a0The financial reports from the county for the end of the fiscal year are still not correct. \u00a0Cyndie will call and speak with them. \u00a0No accurate financial reports were available to read.<\/span><\/p>\n

The board discussed using the cash method of bookkeeping instead of the accrual method with Brennan.\u00a0 We agreed to use that method going forward.\u00a0 We are hoping it will be easier to work with the county reports with the cash method. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Public Input:<\/span> None.<\/p>\n

Old Business:<\/span><\/p>\n

Project Update:\u00a0 The well pumps have had some failures, we are in the process of getting thm replaced.\u00a0 We are checking with Northwestern Energy to see if we can get three phase power to the well house to be compatible with our new pumps. Amy Deitchler with Great West Engineering says there is a grant program that we should qualify for to fund this.\u00a0 We are also seeking bids to replace the service line to one of the pumps.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are working to locate and cap or lock unmetered hydrants. \u00a0To resolve the issues we have discovered so far, we will replace the blow off valve at the Bushey property, install a meter pit where the Harrison water line meets the road and install new curb stops at the Bushey and Bray houses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are planning to install radios on the two meters in the well house so those meters can also been read remotely.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cyndie had been working on getting better remote access to our Scada system (communication between the well house and the booster station) for the board and our water operator.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cyndie has also been working on getting updated information for the OmniSite system on the sewer lot. \u00a0She will be speaking with Andy Mefford about it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The no parking zone was approved by the county after two meetings attended by Cyndie and Paula and multiple calls and meetings with Cyndie. \u00a0The county told us at the meeting they could install markers around the zone. \u00a0Cyndie will be continue working on the zone with the Department of Transportation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The letter to residents regarding unmetered hydrants and other sources of contamination is done and will be going out with the next bills.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A resolution to issue a 1 month water credit to Cyndie Winchel and one to Gary Winchel for landscape maintenance and weed mitigation was approved in June and signed at the meeting so it could be submitted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Budget 2024- \u00a0Budget projections will be made after accurate financial reports are received from the county.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The board revisited getting a backup generator for the booster station to supply water to the residents on the hill in case of a power loss. \u00a0The board decided not to get a generator.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Resolution 2024-08 ARPA DRAW #15 to pay Great West invoice 33252 for $3976.15; Paulson Electric invoice 11362 for $416.05, GBC (excavator) invoice 1428 for $9780 and Great West for $3401.75. \u00a0A motion for payment was made, seconded and approved. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
