\nUPDATE 3.10.2022<\/em>
\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n

At the meeting on 3.10.2022 there was a suggestion to move the board meetings to the end of the month. \u00a0The intent of the change is for our meetings to to better align with the timing of the financial reports we receive from the county. \u00a0After discussion, a motion was made and approved to change meetings to the fourth Thursday of the month.
\nThere will be a special meeting this month at 6:00 pm on 3.24.2022 to adjust to the new schedule. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Meetings are in person on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm at the East Missoula Fire Station.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Sunny Meadows Water District Board is planning to hold the October 8th meeting at the East Missoula Fire Station.<\/strong><\/em><\/h1>\n

Covid 19 update;<\/strong><\/em><\/h1>\n

Before our July 9th meeting, the board was informed that persons associated with East Missoula Fire Station had tested positive for Covid 19.\u00a0 The board chose to relocate the meeting, and the change of meeting location was posted on the door of East Missoula Fire Station.\u00a0 The meeting was held\u00a0 at the Water District well lot on the corner of Sunnyside Lane and Highway 200.\u00a0 Should\u00a0 we continue to relocate, notice will be posted at the station and as weather permits the meeting location will be the well lot.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Water Board Elections are upcoming. \u00a0We have 3 board members whose terms are expiring this year. \u00a0Water Board terms are 3 years. \u00a0Filing opens January 9 and closes March 9 2020. We hope to be able to post a link to download the application in the near future. You can also contact a board member so it can be emailed to you. \u00a0 It can be completed and delivered to the elections office at 140 N. Russell Street. \u00a0They can\u00a0notarize it there.<\/h1>\n

Upcoming maintenance<\/p>\n

We attempted to contact every homeowner by mail to let you all know about the upcoming maintenance this spring on our water system.\u00a0 The letter is as follows:<\/p>\n

After completing careful inspections, we have identified some reservoir deficiencies we feel have a high probability of contributing to this on-going Total Coliform problem.\u00a0 <\/span>As a result, we are proposing the following work plan:<\/span><\/p>\n


\n<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • \n

    Begin temporary low-level chlorination (March through May).\u00a0 <\/span>This will thoroughly sanitize all components of the water supply<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Vigorously flush the water supply in the spring<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Seal open penetrations near the tank roof and re-seal the roof<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Install a tank mixer to remedy stagnated water, eliminate ice formation and stabilize water temperature<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Dive the tank and scrub down tank walls, vacuum sediments and sanitize the interior<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Install a safety system to prevent booster station operation in a low-level state<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Drain ponded water from the concrete vault<\/p>\n

    This list of repairs has been estimated to cost about $25,000.\u00a0 <\/span>The board has reserves to cover these expenses and does not anticipate a rate increase as a result of this activity.\u00a0 <\/span>In doing these items of work and with continuing tank maintenance we feel this has a good chance of bringing closure to the historic Total Coliform positive samples.<\/p>\n
