POLICY STATEMENT<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

It is the policy of the Sunny Meadows Missoula County Water and Sewer District (SMWSD) that the Board of Directors review all decisions regarding contractor engagement and retention.<\/p>\n

Purpose<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of this policy is to establish a mechanism for engaging in a search for qualified personnel to meet the District’s contracting needs. In particular, it is imperative that the board need not wait for the next scheduled board meeting to begin the search for new personnel.<\/p>\n

General guidelines<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

  1. \n

    Upon notification of a pending opening in any of the District’s positions, any member of the board may advertise an opening for the position with a local newspaper, published at least weekly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    The board member is authorized to spend not more than $400 (four hundred dollars) in placing that advertisement .<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    The job descriptions approved by the District will be used as the initial basis for any contract discussion.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    No contract may be offered to any person until approved by the board, except as described in guideline 5, on an emergency basis.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    In the event that a position must<\/b><\/span> be filled prior to the next board meeting, that position will be filled by a board member at the same rate of compensation that the previous holder of the position was receiving, if there is a board member available and qualified to perform the duties. If no board member is qualified, then a position may be offered on a temporary<\/b><\/span> basis to a contractor who would subsequently be ratified by the District board for a longer term contract.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
